Vidiator and Yamgo announced a new service last week to deliver ad-funded user-generated content for live broadcast, mobile and the Web. The companies said in a release that it was the first service to support live broadcasting from the Web to mobile devices with this kind of model.
Yamgo is an Oxford, England company that began life publishing extreme sports videos on mobile phones. Today, Yamgo provides a global web and mobile TV platform for live and pre-recorded content distribution. It also has a social networking service that enables consumers to watch, share and broadcast videos on mobile phones.
The new service will use a Vidiator platform that provides a simple drag-n-drop environment that allows people to quickly produce professional quality content and to publish it to mobile and Web clients.
There’s no word exactly what ad-funded means, whether it will append ads on to user-generated videos, use text-based ads or another means. Snoo.ws is looking forward to learning more about this service.
