Radus announced a new media hub platform that provides consistent user experience for reading news feeds, sharing content, blogging or watching videos while also offering access to mainstream and user-generated content like news, sports and entertainment.
“Today, you’re forced to jump between an endless array of news, entertainment, and social sites just to keep up,” said Radus CEO Scott Rankine in an article here. “Radus solves this problem by offering consumers a new approach, one that brings together the best in online media and social networking in a way that’s visually stunning and remarkably easy to use.”
The aesthetically pleasing service allows users to assemble headlines from various news sources and view them on Radus’ own interface, so users don’t have to jump from site to site. To avoid copyright-infringement lawsuits, Radus offers publishers a revenue-sharing arrangement, in exchange for the right to republish content in its interface, which provides blog and website owners a chance to get in on Radus’ offer and promote their site.
The site is currently drawing content from sources like Flickr, Hulu and CBS as well as over 100 RSS feeds.
With its launch, Radus is going up against giants Google, MSN and others who already offer similar services that aggregate personal choices on to a single web page. At this stage, it’s difficult to see how Radus will capture market share.
