More evidence that the world – and the Web – is moving more mobile every day: 4D Interactive, the UK social media company, has launched a mobile Web portal for Chatbox, its interactive chat and dating TV channel.
The new portal allows UK singles to create profiles, chat and swap messages from their mobile phone’s web browser. Existing users of the Chatbox TV service can use their existing profiles on the mobile service. The company says all of the mobile photo uploads will be via MMS and will be moderated around the clock for “copyrighted and unwanted material.”
Chatbox is also trying to cash in on some merchandising here by including a mobile store for both free and premium content such as love compatibility tests.
“There’s no question that the mobile internet will play a huge part in the future of social networking and so the launch of Chatbox Mobile is critical to our long-term strategy,” said Chris McLellan, 4D’s Digital Media Manager in a statement. “In fact, when the Chatbox website launches early next year we’ll have one of few brands in the world to offer an integrated social networking experience that spans all major interactive media.”
