Not sure what to get the in-laws for the holidays this year? How about an e-card or e-video with you and your significant other doing the salsa?

JibJab, a digital entertainment studio based in L.A provides this service to you along with a number of similar add ons. The site has achieved international acclaim over the past few years starting with their 2004 parody of the US Presidential election with their video of George W. Bush and John Kerry singing This Land is Your Land, which quickly became one of the biggest viral video hits in history.

Currently the site creates, produces and distributes original content including sendable e-cards and viral videos into which users can insert their own faces before sending to friends and family.

Last year, a similar company ElfYourself.com was created by OfficeMax which let people upload their pictures and create dancing elves of themselves and their friends and family. The site had over 39 million visitors in the U.S., 100 million worldwide.

JibJab, realizing their possible loss of business convinced OfficeMax to allow them to run the site and create three dances for the elves: Disco Elves, Jazz Elves, and Country Elves. The additional dance routines also came with additional opportunity for profit as they will now be offering digital downloads of the videos and personalized images to print out on cards, mugs and mouse pads.

Depending on the uptake by users, this partnership could make both OfficeMax and JibJab a ton of money while also providing us lazy shoppers with an easy personalized gift for under the holiday tree.
