Aspiring models will have their chance at a national modeling campaign with Southpole, the flagship brand of Wicked Fashions Inc. and leading retailer of urban clothing. Southpole National Model Search II began on October 15 and is a follow up to its first national contest that ran last fall.
“We are thrilled about launching the Southpole National Model Search II. Last year, we enjoyed unprecedented success - over 5,000 entries and more than six million engagements - the first model search accurately reached our target demographic and produced massive brand awareness,” said Janice Welles, director of marketing & advertising for Southpole.
Interested participants can submit their photos to be posted for public viewing. Photo’s will be featured for approximately six weeks whereupon visitors to the site can comment and vote for their favourite entries. One male and one female will be selected as the winners chosen from the top 250 highest scoring submissions.
While this contest follows the standard photo submission process brought to you by Brickfish, the social media solution, contestants will have more than a photo shoot under their belt if they win.
The two grand prize winners will each receive $1000 cash and will be flown to a destination of the sponsor’s choosing for a Southpole photo shoot and will have the opportunity for the winning models to have their photos displayed in a seasonal Southpole campaign for its clothing line.
On top of that, winners will have a chance to act as the brand ambassadors for the Southpole MySpace and Facebook pages communicating brand messages and engaging with fans online.
“Once again, we are harnessing the power of social media to cultivate new brand evangelists and ignite our existing brand ambassadors to possibly become the new faces of Southpole. We look forward to seeing what new talent is out there, and finding fresh and fashionable representation for our brand,” said Welles.
