Lionsgate, the leading independent film entertainment studio is partnering with Massify, the largest online film production network for an innovative new project that will tap into the massive pool of online talent to develop feature film projects.

Massify is a community that brings together filmmakers, actors, critics and film industry professionals to collaborate, create and connect in order to get films made. Whether you have an idea for a script or are looking for the next big star this network lets you do it all.

The Lionsgate Incubator Project, dubbed LINC will enable the entertainment studio to work with Massify’s growing list of talents to develop original film ideas. Ultimately the goal will be to turn these concepts into feature films or shorts using Lionsgate’s resources.

“There is a revolution of new ideas in filmed entertainment online,” said Curt Marvis, president of digital for Lionsgate. “We intend to be at the forefront of accessing this enormous and largely untapped source of fresh talent and original new voices. Just as we are always looking for ways to monetize our content in a broadband environment, we are equally committed to using new media platforms as a source of new content. Massify’s large and talented community of filmmakers make them an ideal partner to bolster our online initiatives.”

The first project to come out of this unique partnership is the production of a high-concept, male-driven short that Lionsgate expects to develop into a feature length production. The project is set to be a comedy based on a user-generated script, and a director, cast and crew that will all be found through Massify’s online network. The project is set to launch later this year.
