Fuse, the national music television network and a division of Madison Square Garden, L.P. is offering journalists the opportunity to cover the John Mayer concert at New York’s Beacon Theatre as the Fuse Video Reporter.
Participants who are interested in taking part in the contest can enter their 30 second video explaining why they are the only person in the world who deserves to cover this event. Submissions may not include any John Mayer music or video clips, they “just want to see you.”
The submission period ends on November 2, 2009 when the top 10 finalists as chosen by the sponsor, will be posted on the contest website. The public voting phase will see visitors to the website invited to vote for their favourite entries, with only one vote per visitor.
In the third round of judging a panel of official will select one grand prize winner based on the most compelling and engaging video as well as relevance to the contest theme. The final round of judging will also take into account the public voting results as well as comments left by fans.
One grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to New York City with two nights accommodations at the Hotel Beacon with a hotel VIP package. The winner will also receive two tickets to the John Mayer concert at the Beacon Theatre on November 17, 2009 and a backstage pass, complete with a meet and greet with Mayer and one autographed copy of his new CD, Battle Studies. The chosen digital journalist will be “tweeting and blogging your head off the whole time!”
The winner will also have the opportunity to co-anchor a special segment of The Daily Noise with Billboard’s editorial director, Bill Werde on November 18.
