Hopenhagen Ambassador gives voice to the people

Hopenhagen.org and HuffPost Green are teaming up for a citizen journalism contest that will give one lucky journalist the chance at becoming the voice of Hopenhagen representing the people to the media throughout the week.
Hopenhagen.org believes that by bringing every person, city and nation together that we can help push the fate of the planet down a positive path by encouraging political leaders that reaching an agreement that would limit how much carbon emissions each country would be allowed to produce.
Participants can submit a one minute video using the YouTube Direct uploader or by linking back to a YouTube video describing why they would make the best Hopenhagen Ambassador.
As ambassador the chosen representative will be given special clearance and be able to take part in the conversation. Through attending official events and reporting in blogs and video posts for HuffPost and doing celebrity interviews, the winner will spread a message of hope throughout their personal and social networks.
HuffPost readers will pick the top ten best candidates through an online public voting process that will run throughout the contest from November 18 to December 2. Submissions will be accepted until November 29 and the finalists will be notified on December 3. All entries for the Hopenhagen Ambassador contest will be published on HuffPost Green and can be publicized through the use of the hashtag #votehope.
Entries will be judged by a panel including Arianna Huffington, Laurie David, Green editor Katherine Goldstein, citizen journalism editor Matthew Palevsky and others that have not yet been announced.
The winner of the Hopenhagen Ambassador contest will receive a trip to Copenhagen from December 12-19 including airfare, accommodation, press accreditation for the UN conference, media training with HuffPost citizen journalism editor Matt Palevsky, HuffPost blogging privileges and a flip camera to record events.
