Callaway Golf is making use of the Poptent community to inspire filmmakers and videographers to develop a user-generated video that will spread virally online and tell consumers the true Top-Flite story.
Poptent is a vibrant community of filmmakers, actors, comedians, grips, animators and more who are connecting to each other and to companies that want to pay them for their talents. Community members can show off their work, build a portfolio and collaborate with other creators.
The Never Lay Up, Never Pay Up assignment is asking participants to create videos that are so entertaining that people will want to pass them on to their friends to watch. Videos should be irreverent, witty and funny and should appeal to a consumers’ interests of getting more for less. Each entry can be between 30 seconds to one minute in length.
Poptent makes the process quite simple, to connect creative with brands. The first step is to accept the assignment and thereby sign up for an account in the Poptent community. Next participants are asked to carefully read the creative brief and download assets that have been provided by Callaway. Videos should all have ample shots of Top-Flite’s GAMER V2 and/or D2 packaging.
Entries for the Never Lay Up, Never Pay Up video contest must be uploaded to the Poptent website by January 11, 2010. Top-Flite will select the top five submissions for use and producers of those videos will each be awarded $3500.
