Exponential Entertainment debuted its new user-generated content (UGC) gaming platform Hollywood Player on TODAYshow.com yesterday. The GameYourself platform leverages compelling media-based games and makes them more accessible to participants by allowing them to customize games with their own media.

“The debut of GameYourself on TODAYshow.com provides a glimpse into our vision for the future of user generated content games,” said Dave Long, chief executive officer and co-founder of Exponential Entertainment. “We’re demonstrating to our partners how, by tapping into the innovative game engines we’ve developed for HollywoodPlayer.com and extending those capabilities to a new UGC game platform, we can offer them highly valuable strategies for engaging and further growing their audience online in entertaining new ways.”

Exponential Entertainment has designed a series of customized online games using Hollywood Player’s Movie Match-up game engine. The game is reminiscent of the traditional memory game played with playing cards.

In the TODAYshow.com version, Holiday Greeting Game, images of the Today Show anchors are paired up to reveal a special holiday greeting. The custom games feature participant’s personally uploaded images as the tiles and background pictures for the game.

“TODAYshow.com is the place where millions of people go to get the latest news and information, share tips and advice and stay current on the latest trends,” said Catherine Captain, general manager of TODAYshow.com. “By introducing interactive games, we’re providing our community with another fun way to connect with friends and family and engage with the content on the site.”

GameYourself games can be shared through links to email, Facebook and Twitter where participants are being encouraged to customize games and share them with friends and family.
