Facebook campaign has JetBlue fan numbers soaring

JetBlue Airways is attempting to translate its success on the microblogging site Twitter into a bigger fan base on the world’s largest social network, Facebook with the help of a new sweepstakes campaign called All You Can Jet Fan Sweepstakes.

The JetBlue Airways Facebook fan page is using a third party application in order to host the promotional campaign while staying within the Facebook promotion guidelines and its numbers are beginning to soar. Mashable reported the companies fan numbers at barely 60,000 roughly a week ago and today they sit at just under 90,000 fans.

The sweepstakes campaign is fairly simple. Fans can join JetBlue Airways fan page on Facebook and can enter to win prizes. Participants can return to the page daily to submit an extra ballot for even more chances to win.

Prizes include a weekly draw between December 9, 2009 and January 31, 2010 of one pair of roundtrip flights to any JetBlue destination. Participants can also create a All You Can Jet Fan Sweepstakes team and invite friends. The first three friends to respond to your request will be eligible to win a team prize of a five day and four night JetBlue Getaway Vacation package for four.

The grand prize winner will receive a one-year All You Can Jet Pass valid for travel on JetBlue throughout 2010.

JetBlue Airways will also be adding additional grand prize winner packages of All You Can Jet Passes for one year of unlimited travel for every 250,000 fans it obtains through January 31, 2010.
