Atkins International, the creators of diet weight loss programs is capitalizing on the holiday season’s festivities, rich meals and indulgences in a new user-generated content (UGC) campaign that will capture the excitement and aspiration to lose weight and the joy in achieving the goal.

Participants have been asked to create a two to three minute video that would act as a Atkins Diet Testimonial and upload them to the Poptent site. The audition tape should propose how you plan on chronicling one person’s 12-week quest to achieve a healthier weight.

The audition video must fulfill four creative tasks including, identifying the person to be followed, illustrate the person’s personality, character, hopes and dreams, describe how you plan to chronicle the quest, including any key features or characters you will be using in the film and demonstrate how you will make the story both entertaining and inspiring.

Of all the submissions, participants will be allowed to download assets including Atkins logos, background and several informational PDF’s. A minimum of five filmmakers will be invited by the sponsor to create video journals.

Once selected filmmakers will be expected to develop a series of 12 two to three minute videos, not including the audition video, that will be submitted and uploaded to Poptent.net once per week.

All of the videos will be widely distributed by Atkins online so the story segments will be appearing and followed in real-time. Winners will receive a fee of $1000 upon accepting the assignment and an additional $500 for each of the following 11 segments. Upon completion of the assignment winners will receive $2500 for a total fee of $9000.

If any segments are used in any medium by Atkins, the creator will receive an additional $3000. However, if the sponsor is not satisfied with the content submitted at any time, they may cancel any filmmaker with one week’s notice.
