Ke$ha, the 22-year-old pop singer and songwriter is currently working hard writing and recording her debut album with RCA Records. The album is shaping up to be an edgy collection of electro-pop songs.
Now fans have the chance to remake their own version of one of Ke$ha’s hit singles, Tik Tok, in the user-generated content (UGC) contest, Get Styled by Ke$ha. “I want my music to be fun, unapologetic, rowdy, quirky, humorous, and interesting,” says Ke$ha on her website bio, “but with substance behind it. I’m an emotional person underneath all my fronting. I want people to listen to it and feel like they can relate.”
Sponsored by Sony Music Entertainment, this contest asks participants to visit the official contest website to create an account and fill out an entry form. Fans can then create their own version of the Tik Tok video and upload it to YouTube. Links to those videos can then be uploaded to your contest account.
Entries for the Get Styled by Ke$ha video contest will be accepted until February 28, 2010. The top five videos that receive the most views will advance to the final round. Those finalists’ videos will be judged by a team chosen by the contest sponsor and will be evaluated based on originality, creativity, presentation and singing ability.
Of the final five videos the one with the highest score will be selected as the grand prize winner and will receive two round trip tickets to New York City, one night’s hotel accommodation and a $500 shopping spree with Ke$ha, where she will personally style the winner.
