With more and more people turning to the Internet for medical information MPP Global Solutions and Blue August Creations have partnered to help them realize their vision of a user-generated content (UGC) website for sufferers of debilitating and terminal diseases.
It is difficult enough to deal with a life-changing diagnosis. So when Blue August Creations, the self-titled microbe indie entertainment programmers, noticed a gap in the care and counseling network during the development of a documentary about breast cancer called The C Word they immediately wanted to lend their support.
MPP, the premiere provider of Web, mobile Internet and SMS commerce solutions is powering and hosting the campaign website, www.messagesofhope.co.uk. Participants, both sufferers and care givers are able to upload video content, find, view and share digital messages giving people support and advice.
The site includes features such as a blog and comment forum that allows participants the opportunity to provide and receive words of encouragement, while MPP ensures that all inappropriate or unsuitable content is moderated and is not published.
“MPP demonstrated to us the power of its iShop and digital video services, together with an exceptional technical grasp for developing such a cutting edge website. We are extremely happy with the outcome and are certain the site will help victims of illnesses find direct and invaluable support,” said Richard Alexander, MD at Blue August Creations and the originator of the portal.
With the site still in its early stages, all of the drop down menus hope to make things easier. However, if the tool isn’t relevant to you there is a feedback page to let the service know what you think.
“We are delighted to add Messages of Hope to our growing list of user-generated content websites and look forward to supporting them for all current and future requirements,” said Paul Johnson, CEO at MPP.
