Nothing goes better with a movie night than a great big bowl of popcorn. That’s why Diamond Foods’ PopSecret popcorn brand has just launched a new Movie Night Maker utility on its website to enable visitors to create an entire evening of film and friends.
Movie-goers can now arrange movie nights in the comfort of their own homes by making a few selections on the Movie Night Maker and sending out invitations to as many of their friends as they want.
The tool offers menus for the movie occasion including, rainy day, sleepover, break-up and Friday night. Visitors also select the audience and the mood they want to establish such as, sentimental, silly, rebellious or bummed.
The tool will then recommend five different popular movie selections that fit their needs from the search engine Jinni.com. Movies will appear as thumbnails and will include links to trailers, movie info and viewer ratings from IMdB.com. Viewers can then choose to see more options or buy the movie from Amazon.com.
The Movie Night Maker also features a Facebook Connect feature to share the invitations with friends directly from the site. Visitors also have the option of sending invitations directly through email.
Finally, the Movie Night Maker will then direct the organizer to the location nearest to them that sells PopSecret popcorn by searching their ZIP code.
“To make this [Move Night Maker] happen, we took the bold step of bringing together three movie content providers,” PopSecret marketing director Andy Allcock said in a release. “To further enhance PopSecret’s role as the catalyst to a perfect in-home movie experience, we worked to create user-friendly tool that allows customers to select a movie based on the occasion, their mood and who will be watching.”
The new website is also being promoted through a Hollywood VIP sweepstakes and instant-win games managed by PrizeLogic, the interactive promotions strategists.
