If you didn’t already know – sex sells. I know, big shocker. But the thing that’s got me a little worried, is that some brands seem to think the only way to sell is sex.
Brands like GoDaddy.com are a perfect example of how something entirely unsexy, such as domain names, need to be “sex’d up” in order to get any attention.
The same is true with the new ad for Liquid-Plumr’s new product Double Impact. Full of sexual innuendo, some may call this clever marketing, but I kind of feel like it’s a stretch. I’m all for humour, but loose hair clogging my drains – that’s just icky.
Whether I like it or not, I will say that the commercial is getting a lot of attention online with over 700,000 views to date.
