SXSW Interactive Starts on the 9th!

SXSW is next week in Austin, Texas – will you be attending?  More than music and film (both of which will be offering a huge lineup this year) SXSW features an Interactive Festive.  The Interactive Festival is March 9-13 and will be featuring industry leaders in technology, gaming, social media, and more. There will be talks, parties, an entire “village” dedicated to startups.  The opportunity to learn, network, gain exposure to the latest and greatest industry going ons is epic.   From their “about” section of the SXSW page:

“An incubator of cutting-edge technologies, the event features five days of compelling presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology, scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders and an unbeatable line up of special programs showcasing the best new websites, video games and startup ideas the community has to offer. From hands-on training to big-picture analysis of the future, SXSW Interactive has become the place to experience a preview of what is unfolding in the world of technology. Join us March 2012 for the panels, the parties, the 15th Annual Interactive Awards, Startup Village, ScreenBurn at SXSW, the SXSW Trade Show and, of course, the inspirational experience that only SXSW can deliver.”

Sounds pretty incredible.  Will you be at SXSW?

SXSW debuted in March 1987 in Austin, Texas.  It was originally the SXSW Music Conference and Festival.  What is now the Interactive Festival began in 1994 under the name SXSW Film and Multimedia Conference.  In 1995, Film and Multimedia became separate events; in 1999 “Multimedia” became “Interactive.”
