Snoo.ws Worthy Video: Worst Breath in the World

Tic Tac has taken a new spin on the once popular flash mob, but this time it might be considered a little…well, mean.

Passers-by in a square in the small French town of Rouen are asked for directions to the train station only to have the person pass out mid-helping. Victims of this joke then notice everyone in the square begins to pass out, and the video screen shows that it continues throughout the town. Baffled and a little unsure some run, others try to help the fallen, only to discover the whole thing is a practical joke about their supposed bad breath.

Created by Ogilvy & Mather this video might belong on America’s Funniest Videos before it belongs in the world of advertising. While it certainly demonstrates the product better than most flash mobs, I’m not sure shaming people into use is the way to go. Regardless, the ad did receive over 18,000 views in three short days and nearly 5000 shares, including the attention of many bloggers.

So what do you think? Is this a clever promotion or a cruel joke? We’ll let you be the judge.
