Celebrate Telework Week – March 4-8, 2013

March 4-8 is Telework Week 2013! Here at ICUC we’re not new to telework, that’s how we roll! Because our employees work globally we are able to provide 24/7 moderating services among all the other social media services we offer brands. Our employees love their jobs and professionalism is important to us. Being a global and multi-lingual company gives our clients an edge in the world of social media.

Mobile Work Exchange is promoting this “third-annual global effort to encourage agencies, organizations, and individuals to pledge to telework anytime from March 4-8, 2013.”  On their page you can Join the movement. “Last year, more than 71,000 pledged, saving $5,651,890 on commuting costs, gaining back 251,774 hours into their day, and removing 3,453 tons of pollutants from the air, while refraining from driving 6,413,006 miles.”

Blue Jeans Network came out in support of telecommuters with a billboard they are putting up in San Francisco. This follows the announcement last week from Yahoo’s CEO Marissa Mayer, that telecommuters will have to move back to their offices for work.

There are great benefits of working from home, apart from the more obvious one of saving money for both employer and employee: flexibility, more productivity, quiet and less distractions, more time with spent with family instead of sitting in a car, and cutting down on car emission for a greener environment.
