On Tuesday, March 12, Pinterest introduced Web Analytics. Now businesses and brands will be able to track images from their sites that have been pinned. In order to start using these analytics you must have a verified website listed on your profile with a check mark next to it.
As you can see by the screen shot below from Pinterest’s blog, you can track how many people pinned from your site, visited your site from Pinterest and how many repins of images came from your site, among other analytics.
The new changes that Pinterest has been implementing for businesses will give site owners better insight into the type of traffic they are getting and show what images people are identifying the most with. They can use this information to provide better images designed to draw more traffic and create more revenue from pinners visiting their website. It will be interesting to see if Pinterest comes up with more brand-friendly updates in the near future.
