YouTube helps raise awareness about hunger in America

With the state of today’s economy more American’s are finding it hard to make ends meet and one out of every eight Americans do not know where their next meal is coming from. YouTube and Feeding America are coming together to bring awareness about the issue of hunger in America.

Feeding America is a network of food banks that feed 25 million Americans a year, including 9 million children. Along with the OneXOne Foundation and YouTube, you can help to promote a cause and get involved through YouTube Video Volunteers. (more…)

Microsoft PSA spoofs - joining the browser boom

Microsoft has just launched a user-generated content (UGC) contest to beef up its promotional campaign for Internet Explorer 8 with Create Your Own PSA. The contest, which comes after some criticism of their initial drive, is looking for funny PSA announcements showcasing what the new browser can do better. (more…)

Chicken of the Sea jingle contest

Chicken of the Sea, a brand of light canned tuna, has launched a jingle contest called The Mermaid Jingle Jam, which aims to replace the brand’s catchy 1960s jingle that it still uses today.

The contest, which is part of the brand’s Twice a Week for Better Health campaign, also has a philanthropic twist, as the winner will be helping a local Feeding America food bank by having a truck load of food delivered on their behalf. (more…)
