UGC makes it easy to be green

Did you ever have a moment where you knew something important needed to be done to make a big change to our planet? Well GreenHeroes.tv is an internet channel that tells remarkable stories of people who experienced just that and realized that they were going to be the ones to do it.

The cross platform project includes TV shows, a website, user-generated content (UGC) and a blog and has recently launched 10 video episodes that feature various Green Heroes that are making a difference in their communities to raise awareness for various green causes. (more…)

Virtual Star is searching for young talent in Canada

Now in its second year the Pixel Pusher and YTV have teamed up to deliver the Virtual Next Star contest. As the online companion to the television show The Next Star, the hunt for young Canadian talent is on.

Participants must be 15-years-old or younger to enter the contest and must first select one of 10 songs provided through the contest. Choosing artists such as John Mayer, Michael Buble, Kate Voegele or Justin Bieber, participants can record themselves on their webcam and upload their entry by August 9, 2010. (more…)

All that funny UGC to become new Comedy Network show

Canadians are widely known for their friendly demeanour and witty sarcasm. So, it’s not hard to believe that there would be so much material out there that someone could make a TV show all about it - and that is just what The Comedy Network is doing.

Upload Yours in a new series of user-generated videos that have been gathered across the web to create a new prime time television show. The original series is set to shine a spotlight on over 1200 video uploads from the networks site uly.thecomedynetwork.ca.

Only the most unique submissions have been pulled to share with the public. Videos range from fall off your chair funny, to long awkward silences and should be a great showing. (more…)

Tic Tac causing a small fun revolution with social media

The Vancouver-based advertising agency Noise Digital has launched a new digital campaign aimed at engaging young Canadians to share in the Tic Tac Small Fun Revolution for Ferrero Canada, by uploading user-generated content (UGC) that features the small breath fresheners or their boxes.

The cross-country search is looking for Tic Tac brand ambassadors through multiple channels including a microsite, www.tictacsmallfun.ca, a branded YouTube channel, a Facebook fan page, Twitter, display advertising and two iPhone applications. (more…)

Reitmans social media : 1, Wardrobe challenges : zero.

We all know and love the Reitmans commercials, where clothes are designed for real life. Right now Reitmans is in the process of choosing three of its top fashionistas in The Shapeover Challenge.

The contest saw a total of three phases. First was the strike a pose from head to toe phase. Participants were encouraged to register for the contest online showing off their very best photo and describing their wardrobe challenges. Whatever the problem Reitmans wanted to hear about it - and they did. The contest received over 1800 participants using the Filemobile Media Community. (more…)

Kraft and TSN team up to refresh your community

For the second year in a row, Kraft Foods and TSN’s SportsCentre have teamed up to give away money for community face lifts in the social media campaign and contest, Kraft Celebration Tour Competition.

Using the Filemobile media community application, the leaders in rich social media applications will host the contest. This year’s platform will include a new added feature in Facebook Connect, which will allow the audience to register or login in one easy click. Participants will now also be able to broadcast their activities over their personal social channels with the built-in viral marketing platform. (more…)

Who will Bring Home the Cup this year?

In its fourth year, Pepsi, Lays and Gatorade have joined forces to once again sponsor the user-generated content (UGC) contest Team up and Bring Home The Cup for amateur Canadian hockey teams to have a taste of the big leagues.

The contest is only open to Canadian residents and asks participants to submit their own story in one of three ways including either, an electronic video of no more than two minutes in length, an electronic photo and an essay of 250 words, or simply an essay of 250 words. (more…)

KiSS 92.5 and Pizza Pizza have come together to present a no holds bar user-generated content (UGC) creativity contest. Show Us Ur KiSS is looking for fans to show off their skills and put together something completely original that shows everyone what you think about KiSS 92.5.
