Dollhouse engaging fans via new ad format

Fox Home Entertainment is using rich media ad formats to engage fans for the July 28 release of the first season of the TV series Dollhouse on Blue-ray disc and DVD. The new advertisements let fans of the Joss Whedon thriller tweet directly to series star Eliza Dushku.

The ads were developed by digital agency Moxie Interactive and interactive ad provider EyeWonder. When participants roll over the online ads they will see Dushku’s live Twitter feed and will be invited to log in to their own accounts and post their thoughts on the show. (more…)

JOE’s Jeans is searching the web for models

Denim fashion leader JOE’s Jeans has teamed with FameCast, a digital entertainment innovator to create an online model search for the next JOE’s models to appear in the company’s new international advertising campaign.

The online contest is a blend of user-generated content, social media and FameCast’s Buzz Factor technology that delivers a customized marketing campaign that engages users and promotes brands.

FameCast first established itself as an online music talent centre and had great success with competitions such as Guitar Center On-Stage with Motley Crue and John Mayer’s Mayercraft. Building on that foundation, FameCast has expanded into other industry segments and prides itself on its ability to drive cost effective and comprehensive marketing campaigns that uphold brand standards. New menu for Metacafe

YouTube’s decision to make changes to its website to increase profits have given similar companies such as Metacafe inspiration to do the same. Despite the outcry from users about the reformatting of the YouTube website, Google went ahead and added professional content in an attempt to finally turn a profit from the massive video sharing website.
