Small business, big gains off Twitter accounts

While we might still be unsure of how to best measure the ROI of having a Twitter account and paying someone to “tweet” for your business several times a day, the truth is - it works.

Naked Pizza, a healthful pizza shop based in New Orleans hoping to go national, has recently been using the microblogging site as a marketing tool and began tracking its sales from Twitter. Through phone and drop-in, every order was measured by where it came from, which told restaurant co-founder Jeff Leach that 15 per cent of sales on April 23, 2009 were brought in due to an exclusive-to-Twitter promotion that day.
