What has been called “the world’s most notorious file sharing site,” The Pirate Bay, have been convicted by a Swedish court of contributory copyright infringement and each of the accused sentenced to a year in prison.

Pirate Bay administrators Fredik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg and Peter Sunde, along with Carl Lundstrom; who was accused of funding the five-year-old operation, were ordered to pay damages of $3.6 million, to a list of entertainment companies. (more…)
