Can you get a bigger buzz than Go Daddy?

Yesterday the Indianapolis Colts hosted the New Orleans Saints in the XLIV Super Bowl. Millions of fans around the country have been waiting to see the athletes, the plays and the entertainment, including the much anticipated 2010 Super Bowl ads. YouTube slims down for film-focused future. Like or dislike?

YouTube, the popular video sharing site has recently introduced a stripped back design for video player pages which it hopes will make the site more appealing and is potentially the key to its future success.

Back in 2009 YouTube announced it would be looking into soliciting professional content to increase revenue. The new light design is hoping to draw the attention of major film companies and movie studios as viewers will pay more attention to what they are watching and less to the interface surrounding it. Are You Inspired by Martin Luther King?

To celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, The Washington Post asked their readers how Dr. King had inspired them. The newspaper invited users to submit a video response sharing which of the famous activist’s words they thought were most memorable, or explaining how Dr. King had affected their lives.

Many citizens went to YouTube to reenacting Dr. King’s famous speeches. The videos are displayed on YouTube’s homepage as well as on washingtonpost.com. Participants could visit the YouTube blog or The Washington Post site to submit their video using YouTube Direct. Once the videos are posted, others have the opportunity to respond to the content and share their thoughts about the day. (more…)

YouTube and Target are partnering in a social media initiative that has produced a consumer-friendly, customized channel themed entirely for the holidays. With the holiday season in full force retailers such as Target are reaching out to customers online.

The new YouTube channel, Holiday Solutions features videos on everything from home and party ideas to recipes, gift giving tips and of course, Target-specific holiday videos and a Target gift guide. The official YouTube blog says that the channel is perfect to help consumers navigate through the season. (more…)
